The River Walk

Along shadowed waterways

of lush warm greens,

and idyllic arched bridges,

tether paces ease in alpha rhythm,

to the serene river flow.

Couples embraced in reverence,

conversation tinged with laughter,

permeate in infectious currents,

exhaled in festive celebration.

 Here on the river walk,

we come like pilgrims,

whetted by appetite,

seeking conviction, purpose, and balance,

uncertain of what we may uncover.

We mostly leave with memories,

occasionally remembered,

fond impressions losing detail,

but spirit sharp and clear.
